Occupational Therapy

Occupational Therapy aims to facilitate maximal engagement and participation in all activities of life, including self-care, productivity, leisure, and rest, by means of supporting people to overcome physical limitations, cognitive difficulties, and/or mental health challenges in order to function to the best of their abilities and to find satisfaction in their life roles as family members, friends, workers, etc. Occupational Therapists are essentially ‘activity’ therapists; ‘occupation’ basically means activity, or any task that occupies time. Occupational Therapists believe strongly in balance among the various activities that take up our time and among the various roles that we encompass.
